Bullets can be tricky, and getting them to work properly can be even trickier. Using the typical <ul> and <li> HTML tags may work, but the results can render different among email clients. Fortunately, there is a great way to create awesome looking bullets every time!

Creating Bullets from Code

The following process will walk you through the steps to create clean-rendering bullets using the HTML editor in Informz.

Click the Source Code icon in the editor.

Clear any existing text and paste the following code:

<table border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">
<td style="font-family: verdana; font-size: 9pt; line-height: 14pt; width: 35px; vertical-align: top; text-align: center;" align="center">&#8226;</td>
<td style="font-family: verdana; font-size: 9pt; line-height: 14pt; vertical-align: top;"> Text goes here</td>

Click Update to save your changes. Your mailing should now look like the image below:

Click Save to finish.

Please note that the code example above uses specific font styles and sizes. However, you can change these attributes to meet your specific needs.

Creating Additional Bullets in Your List

To create additional bullets in your list, simply right-click anywhere within the placeholder text and select Row > Insert Row After.

Copy and paste the bullet from the first table cell into the new row.

Repeat these steps as many times as necessary – the text box will always retain the same settings.

You’re Good to Go!

You’ve just created some amazing bullet points! A great place to use a bulleted list is in the Story Layout editor. For example, when you want to use bullet points in a mailing, you can insert this code into your story layout. Additionally, all the settings are preset, so you can simply replace the placeholder text with your own custom text!
