New Features

The KnowledgeBase

The Informz KnowledgeBase formally launched in April 2016 and has become an invaluable resource for Informz users. This was a very exciting addition to Informz’s support network, and the KnowledgeBase itself continues to expand with new articles about everything Informz.

Landing Pages and Forms

Landing pages were a huge addition to Informz, allowing you to host content and forms with sleek designs. We initially released landing pages in April 2016 to a number of early adopters, who in turn provided a great deal of constructive feedback.

In July, we began to revisit landing pages and begin improving the functionality based on discoveries and feedback. We made it easy to group different elements on your landing page so that you can move them as one, cohesive unit. We also added a design feature that lets you hide items from the Mobile version of your landing page if you need to. Next, we ensured that you get the most out of your landing pages by adding four new landing page-based target groups. Finally, to save you time, we made it easier to create an Unsubscribe option by including new elements for Unsubscribe Checkboxes, Unsubscribe Reason Option, and Unsubscribe Reason Text.

If these enhancements weren’t enough, however, we added a useful new feature that lets you use landing pages to register subscribers for webinars.

In October, we revisited Landing Pages once more time and streamlined the interface and improved the performance and behavior of the different elements that you can use to construct your pages. Everything from banner images to style consistency to collision detection were enhanced.

GoToWebinar Integration

This new integration connects Informz with GoToWebinar. The integration supports multiple organizers, and both "one-time" and multiple-session webinars. The integration creates target groups for registrants, attendees, and registrants who did not attend.

Send Time Localization

Informz now supports a new feature called Send Time Localization. This feature looks at subscribers’ US Zip Codes in the iMIS database and correlates it to a time zone, then correlates the time zone to the preferred mailing publish time. For example, if you send a mailing at 2:00 pm in your time zone, subscribers receive that mailing at 2:00 pm in their own time zone. Likewise, if an organization sends a mailing from their New York City office at 9:00 am Eastern Standard Time, subscribers in San Francisco receive the mailing at 9:00 am Pacific Standard Time! This was initially released for iMIS clients.

Zip Code Radius Target Groups

Users can now create target groups based on a zip code radius (i.e. postal code in some countries). By entering a zip code and a specified radius, Informz can create a target group of subscribers within that radius. Note that you need to have Integration Personalizations active in your account to use this feature because the data is drawn from personalization information. This was initially released for iMIS clients.

Updated and Enhanced Features

LinkedIn Social Posting

LinkedIn is tremendously popular among professionals, and because of this, we wanted to ensure that you had access to their social posting features. In October, we added the ability to add a LinkedIn account to your social accounts in Informz.

Target Groups

We made quite a few changes to improve Target Groups this year:

  • We added a new Clicked Any Links over a Period of Time feature that allows you to look for subscribers who clicked on any links for mailings sent over a period of time (within two years).
  • We added a new feature for all accounts that automatically deletes unused target groups after a user-specified timeframe.
  • The target group splitting and random segmenting features were moved to the Target Group page and have been enhanced. Note that the enhanced actions may take some time depending on the size of the original target group.
  • We improved many rules around target group deletion, helping to prevent you from unwanted deletions and invalidating compound target groups.

API Updates

There were several enhancements to our API:

  • Several new requests for different activities, such as scoring, personas, and web tracking.
  • Major enhancements to the BulkUpload API call.
  • There were a lot of little rules changes to the API throughout 2016. For example, we improved rules around default personalizations and unsubscribes within the API. Additionally, we increased the character limit for personal information values to 1,000 characters, allowing you to add more information in these fields.


In May, we added many new features to campaigns. For example, we enhanced your campaign options by adding a Campaign Exclude feature that removes subscribers, who no longer meet predetermined criteria, from a campaign.

In August, we again enhanced campaigns with new re-entry settings that allow subscribers to re-enter campaigns. Furthermore, we added a Date decision step that creates branches based on events occurring before or after a specific calendar date. Finally, we enhanced the Wait step with three new options: wait until day of week, wait until day of month, and wait until event occurs.

netFORUM Enterprise Personalization Fields

In September, all accounts with netFORUM Enterprise 2014-2015 gained access to 300 personalization fields.

Mailing Page

In April, the ability to search the email body content of a mailing became part of the Mailing page search functionality. This search looks into all non-deleted news stories in Mailings to find matches.

In May, we added a new column was to the Mailing page to display the Sender. This displays the last name of the person who scheduled the mailing (pulled from his or her user account information).

Other Changes

In April, the Federal government of the United States instituted new policies around military email addresses. Because the government organizations involved in overseeing .mil email addresses were no longer allowing HTML emails to go to those addresses, all active .mil subscribers were switched to text format in Informz so that they could continue to receive mailings. Additionally, new .mil addresses were (and continue to be) automatically set to text format.

We noticed that most Informz users were using the term “upload” to describe the subscriber load process, so we changed our UI to reflect this.
